Fintech Cafè – January 2026

The January edition of the Fintech Café, hosted by the European Digital Finance Association (EDFA), brought together national associations and stakeholders from across Europe for an open exchange on current regulatory priorities and upcoming developments in digital finance.

Highlights from the January Session

The session offered a comprehensive overview of the fintech agenda under the Cypriot EU Presidency, with participants also discussing the forthcoming priorities of the Irish and Lithuanian presidencies. The conversation highlighted the importance of anticipating regulatory shifts and ensuring early coordination among industry players.

Members shared updates on the expected timeline for the consultancy related to the DLT framework, as well as ongoing work on PSD/PSR. Particular attention was given to the evolution of technical working groups and the latest discussions surrounding the ETPPA proposal, reflecting the sector’s need for clarity and alignment as implementation progresses.

Across all topics, participants emphasized the value of timely information sharing and cross-border dialogue.
