Joint Statement on FIDA

Supporting a Stronger Framework for Financial Data Access in Europe

EDFA has joined several leading European fintech associations as a co-signatory of an open industry letter sent on 31 March 2025 to the European Commission and the European Parliament. The letter outlines the ecosystem’s continued support for the Financial Data Access (FIDA) Regulation and presents a series of targeted adjustments to help ensure its success.

Together with AEFI, AFEPAME, EMA, ETPPA, France FinTech, FRIDA, PSD2SIG, and the Swedish FinTech Association, we advocate for a regulation that is customer-centric, promotes continuous and secure access to financial data, and creates a level playing field for innovation across Europe.

The joint letter emphasises that with the right adjustments, FIDA can become a cornerstone of Europe’s open finance vision — empowering consumers, encouraging competition, and reinforcing the EU’s leadership in digital financial services.
