Borders: Fintech and Regulators Towards a Unified European Financial Market

November 19, 2025 @ 2:00 PM - 4:30 PM

This November, EDFA will launch a new initiative – the Bridging Borders Roundtables. These sessions are designed to bring together fintech associations and national supervisors across Europe, creating a unique forum where innovators and regulators can sit around the same table, exchange perspectives, and work towards a more integrated and competitive European financial market.

The concept is simple: the market brings the content, the NCAs bring the questions. Each roundtable focuses on a theme that matters both locally and at the European level, fostering an open, pragmatic dialogue.

The first edition, taking place on 19 November in Paris, will focus on Fintech and Regulators: Towards a Unified European Financial Market. Discussions will explore how to reduce market fragmentation, enhance supervisory convergence, and support cross-border growth for fintechs and SMEs. The goal is not only to identify the challenges but to highlight practical pathways for collaboration between regulators and industry to enable a truly European market for digital finance.

EDFA members are invited to join together with their National Competent Authorities (NCAs) to ensure a balanced exchange between market voices and supervisory perspectives.

The Paris meeting will mark just the beginning. Future Bridging Borders sessions will be hosted in different European cities – each anchored in local context but united by a pan-European vision: connecting supervisors and fintechs to build a more open, innovative, and integrated Europe.
