Last week in Paris, the European Digital Finance Association (EDFA) hosted two high-level meetings with the European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA) and the European Banking Authority (EBA), convening key representatives from across Europe’s digital finance ecosystem.
These meetings provided a valuable platform to exchange insights on several of the EU’s most important regulatory files — including PSD3, FIDA, crowdfunding, open finance, and the supervisory implications of artificial intelligence. The discussions reflected a shared commitment to designing frameworks that are both innovation-friendly and rooted in strong governance.

A Cross-European Delegation
From the EDFA side, we were proud to bring together a broad delegation of representatives from our member associations and partners, including:
Karsten Wenzlaff, Niklas Sandqvist, Don Ginsel, Noam Perets, Gabor Davidhazy, Enrique Velazquez, Guillaume Flies, Joan Carette, Anna Pavlovska, Nikita Goncars, Piotr Brewiński, Mark Kepeneghian, Damien Guermonprez, Florence de Maupeou, Ana-Maria Georgescu, Cosmin Cosma, and Julien Hostache.
We are especially thankful to our counterparts at ESMA — Raquel de Julian Artajo, Salvatore Gnoni, and Francesca Fiamma, and to EBA — Ruta Merkeviciute, Dirk Haubrich, Elisabeth Noble, and Antonio Barzachki — for their openness, thoughtful engagement, and continued collaboration.
Hosted in Paris by France FinTech
The meetings were made possible through the generous support and warm hospitality of France FinTech for welcoming the EDFA delegation.
These moments of direct exchange between regulators and the fintech ecosystem are essential to advancing a European digital finance framework that is innovative, inclusive, and fit for the future.
