The European Digital Finance Association (EDFA) is pleased to welcome the Bundesverband für elektronische Wertpapiere (German Association for Electronic Securities) as a new member, further strengthening EDFA’s representation across Europe’s digital finance ecosystem.

The Bundesverband für elektronische Wertpapiere is dedicated to increasing the visibility and acceptance of electronic securities under the German Electronic Securities Act (eWpG), with a particular focus on crypto-securities. The association promotes the interests of companies and stakeholders involved in the issuance and administration of electronic securities, contributing to the modernization of securities law and reinforcing Germany’s position as a financial centre.
The association fosters exchange among its members, monitors and advises on legislative processes, and provides practical support to market participants. It also engages with regulatory developments, particularly in areas where the maintenance of crypto-securities registers qualifies as a financial service under the German Banking Act (KWG), supervised by BaFin.
Through its membership, the Bundesverband für elektronische Wertpapiere brings specialised expertise from the German electronic securities market into EDFA’s European dialogue. Its experience contributes valuable insight to discussions on digital capital markets, regulatory clarity, and the broader development of innovative financial infrastructure in Europe.
By joining EDFA, the association strengthens the collective voice of market participants working toward a more modern, interoperable, and competitive European financial ecosystem.
Welcome to EDFA!
